I. Teaching Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

4. Use the present perfect tense to talk about changes in life since acquiring a new technology.

III. Target Language Structures:
- Present perfect tense for expressing changes that occurred at an unspecified time before now, especially when the result is still relevant ("I haven't done much exercise since I got my computer.")
- Using since and for with the present perfect tense
- Discussing cause and effect relationships between technology and lifestyle choices
IV. Teaching Aids:
- Multimedia projector for displaying slides

V. Teaching Procedures:
Step 1: Warm-up (5 minutes)

Step 2: Pre-reading (5 minutes)

Step 3: While-listening (15 minutes)
- Play an audio recording that features individuals talking about how their lives have changed since acquiring a new technology, particularly in terms of health and exercise.
- Ask students to listen and complete the exercises from the handout, focusing on understanding the reasons behind any changes mentioned.
- After listening, hold a class discussion to clarify any misunderstandings and deepen comprehension.
Step 4: Post-listening (15 minutes)
- In pairs, students practice discussing their own experiences and changes in habits since getting a new technology using the present perfect tense.
- Walk around the classroom to provide assistance and encourage accurate use of the present perfect tense.
Step 5: Speaking Practice (10 minutes)
- Distribute role-play scenario cards. Each card describes a situation where students need to discuss how a certain technology has affected their lifestyle, particularly regarding health and exercise.
- Instruct students to role-play a conversation using the given information and incorporating the target language structures.
- Some pairs can perform their role-play for the class.
Step 6: Writing Task (10 minutes)

Step 7: Homework & Review (5 minutes)
- Review key vocabulary and language structures by playing a game such as "Technology Impact," where students have to continue a sentence about how a technology has affected their lives using the present perfect tense.
- Assign homework: Students write down three ways in which technology has influenced their habits, both positively and negatively.
VI. Assessment:
- Evaluate students' participation in discussions, listening exercises, and pair work to assess their understanding of vocabulary and ability to use the target language structures.
- Check written assignments for correct use of the present perfect tense, expressions related to technology's impact on health and exercise, and adherence to the given scenarios in role-plays.
