　　《本草綱目拾遺》記載：黑豆即今之馬料豆也，其色黑，而形如人腰，故入腎經(jīng)；黑豆味甘溫?zé)o毒，壯筋骨，止盜汗，補腎活血，明目，益精; 但食黑豆，則須發(fā)不白，其補腎之功可知；服之能益精補髓，壯力潤肌，發(fā)白復(fù)黑，久則轉(zhuǎn)老為少，終其身無痰病也。

　　李時珍在其所著《本草綱目》中說，豆有多種顏色，只有黑豆既可充當(dāng)糧食又可做藥，所指黑豆就是細(xì)長圓小的細(xì)腰黑豆。服食黑豆，令人長肌膚，益顏色，填骨髓，增氣力。

　　《本草綱目》還有“李守愚每晨水吞黑豆二七枚，謂之五臟谷，到老不衰”的記載。

　　The Supplement to Compendium of Materia Medica records that black beans, also known as Maliao beans, are black in color and shaped like a human waist, thus entering the Kidney Meridian. Black beans have a sweet, warm, and non-toxic taste, which can strengthen muscles and bones, stop night sweats, tonify the kidneys and promote blood circulation, brighten the eyes, and benefit energy. If you eat black beans, your hair will not be white, so its kidney tonifying effect can be known. Taking black beans can benefit energy and nourish the marrow, white hair can turn black. Over time, people will become younger, and eventually will have no phlegm disease.

　　Li Shizhen said in his book Compendium of Materia Medica that beans have multiple colors, and only black beans can serve as both food and medicine. The black beans referred to are slender waist black bean which are thin, round, and small. Eating black beans can promote skin growth, improve complexion, fill the bone marrow, and enhance vitality.

　　The Compendium of Materia Medica also records that “Li Shouyu swallows fourteen black beans every morning, which is called the Five Organ Cereal and never senile in old age.”

人文歷史

　　相傳，漢高祖劉邦稱帝后，呂后專權(quán)，為避禍亂已懷身孕的薄太后隱居于娘娘灘(河曲縣城東北7公里處黃河中的小島)，生下了后來的漢文帝劉恒。

　　在島上隱居的艱難日子里，薄太后母德慈仁，不畏艱辛，效法炎帝嘗百草興農(nóng)耕，發(fā)現(xiàn)原為當(dāng)?shù)鼐用裼米黧H馬料的野黑豆，人食之不僅可當(dāng)飯、口感好，而且久食之令人養(yǎng)顏美容、生發(fā)黑發(fā)、身材健美、神清氣爽，并且黑豆還有活血化瘀、除痹去腫、明目舒心、去煩安眠、解百藥之毒的特殊功能，有治心痛筋攣、膝痛脹滿、產(chǎn)后頭風(fēng)、煩躁恍惚、脫發(fā)白發(fā)等藥用功能。

　　因其細(xì)長圓小、形如人腰，薄太后賜名細(xì)腰黑豆，并教民種植，作為主食之一，還傳授養(yǎng)生，為民醫(yī)疾。為感念薄太后恩德，細(xì)腰黑豆這一珍貴品種在河曲代代相傳，至今仍保持著原始野生品種和天然有機旱作耕作方式。

　　薄太后賜名“細(xì)腰黑豆”、造福當(dāng)?shù)匕傩盏拿利悅髡f一直傳頌至今：九曲黃河十八彎，傳奇莫過娘娘灘；拜得薄后圣母殿，福佑百姓美名傳。

Humanistic History

　　Tradition has it that after Liu Bang proclaimed himself emperor, Empress Lv held absolute power. In order to avoid disasters, Empress Dowager Bo, who was already pregnant, lived in seclusion at Niangniantan (a small island in the Yellow River 7 kilometers northeast of Hequ County) and gave birth to the later Emperor Wen of Han, Liu Heng.

　　During the difficult days of seclusion on the island, Empress Dowager Bo was not afraid of hardships and imitated Emperor Yan to taste herbs and promote agriculture. She discovered that wild black beans, originally used as donkey and horse food by local residents, not only served as food and had a good taste, but also can be consumed for a long time to nourish and beautify the skin, produce black hair, maintain a healthy body, and refresh the mind. Black beans also had special functions such as promoting blood circulation and removing stasis, removing dampness and swelling, brightening the eyes, relieving restlessness and insomnia, and detoxifying the poison. They had medicinal functions such as treating heart pain and muscle contractures, knee pain, postpartum headache, restlessness and dizziness, and hair loss.

　　Due to its slender, round, and small shape resembling a human waist, Empress Dowager Bo bestowed the name “slender waist black bean” and taught the people to plant it as one of their staple food. She also taught health preservation and provided medical treatment for the people. To commemorate the kindness of Empress Dowager Bo, the precious variety of slender waist black beans has been passed down from generation to generation in Hequ, and still maintains its original wild variety and natural organic dry farming method to this day.

　　The beautiful legend of Empress Dowager Bo bestowing the name “slender waist black bean” and benefiting the local people has been passed down to this day: The legend of the Yellow River is incomparable to the Niangniangtan. Empress Dowager Bo has blessed the people and passed down a good reputation.

產(chǎn)地環(huán)境

　　河曲縣位于晉、陜、蒙三省區(qū)交界，與陜西府谷縣、內(nèi)蒙古準(zhǔn)格爾旗隔黃河相望，素有“雞鳴三省”之稱：耕地面積54.14萬畝，年平均降水382毫水，無霜期145天左右；歷史上十年九早，生態(tài)脆弱，經(jīng)濟發(fā)展緩慢；民謠“河曲保德州，十年九不收；男人走口外，女人挖野菜”便是人們昔日窮苦生活的真實寫照。

　　河曲地處草原文化與中原文化的交匯地帶，是一座集黃河自然奇景與人文奇景于一體的千年文化名城。

　　河曲歷來素有“蔬菜基地”、“小雜糧基地”美稱，沿河平川區(qū)盛產(chǎn)瓜菜，高山半山區(qū)農(nóng)業(yè)以脫毒馬鈴薯、小雜糧為主，小雜糧主要有黑豆、谷子等為主。

　　Hequ County is located at the border of Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Nei Monggol provinces, facing Fugu County in Shaanxi and Jungar Banner in Nei Monggol across the Yellow River. It is known as the “Bordering Three Provinces”, with a cultivated land area of 541400 mu, an average annual precipitation of 382 milliliters of water, and a frost free period of about 145 days. In history, Hequ has been plagued by perennial drought, fragile ecology, and slow economic development. The folk song “Hequ County and Baode County suffer from year-round crop failures; men go to the north of the Great Wall, while women dig wild vegetables” is a true portrayal of people’s poor lives in the past.

　　Hequ is located at the intersection of grassland culture and Central Plains culture, and is a millennium old cultural city that combines natural and cultural wonders of the Yellow River.

　　Hequ has always been known as a “vegetable base” and “small coarse cereal base”. The flat areas along the river are rich in melons and vegetables, while agriculture in the mountainous and semi mountainous areas is mainly focused on detoxified potatoes and small coarse cereals.
